The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation has upheld the one-and-a-half-year prison sentence for former Chamber prosecutor of the Corrientes city of Santo Tomé, Olga Anahí Tabacchi, for the crimes of abuse of authority and violation of official duties, as a mediating author, in a real contest with forgery of a public document and in an apparent contest with damages.
According to the accusation, the then prosecutor illegally occupied a dwelling in that city and obtained undue enrichment by renting it to a woman, pretending to be the owner. When it was discovered that she could not dispose of the property, she allegedly pressured her tenant to hand over the land and thus end the conflict.
According to the investigation, in this context, the former prosecutor attempted to hold a mediation hearing with her tenant and forged a referral form, signing simultaneously as prosecutor and complainant. In addition, she allegedly filed a false complaint to make the document appear legitimate and used her position to alter judicial records in the computer system to cover up her own acts.
